What We Do

We Revitalize Homes
We leverage generous community support with our superpower — volunteers! — to build decent, affordable homes in partnership with people who need a better place to live, want to buy their own homes, and are ready to accept the responsibilities of homeownership.

We Restore Homes
Most people know we build new homes, but we also bring new life to existing houses through our home preservation program. At Habitat, we know there’s value in rebuilding and restoring structures that have a lot of life left – healthy structures that are already the backbone of healthy communities.

We Repair Homes
Critical home repair projects provide a long-term sense of safety and security to residents and entire communities. We help homeowners who struggle to maintain their home’s integrity. Homeowners receive tangible assistance for exterior home repairs that address safety and livability, and in return homeowners repay a 0% interest loan for approved repairs.

We Build Community
Through Habitat’s mission, individuals and families become a part of the community fabric, pay taxes and take pride in their neighborhoods. Our work helps overcome urban blight and brings people and neighborhoods together. Volunteers create a spirit of community sharing. Everyone benefits.

Global Impact:
Habitat for Humanity’s Journey
Internationally, Habitat for Humanity has grown from a grassroots effort that began on a community farm in southern Georgia in 1976 to a nonprofit housing organization in nearly 1,400 communities across the U.S. and in over 70 countries.
