On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, a bright sunny and hot. day, the Western Michigan University Bronco Hockey team went to work with Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity to lay out the foundation for something much larger than themselves, individually or collectively.
Their task on this hot day was to be trailblazers and clear a lot in the Plainwell area of trees and a heavy growth of brush. The purpose being to outline and prepare the area for the foundation of a new Habitat home for a future Habitat family.
Armed with axes; saws; rakes; lop-pers; etc.; and strong bodies and minds, the team took on the challenge to get the lot ready for excavation. Through their work, and some play, Habitat is now ready to begin work on another home that will change the lives of another deserving family for years to come.
