Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions via Facebook or in advance by contacting KVHH Community Engagement Coordinator Joel Hardcastle at jhardcastle@habitatkalamazoo.org.
“I am thrilled that Rob Oakleaf has taken the lead at KVHH. He brings with him a tremendous background, an understanding of Kalamazoo, and passion for our mission. I am confident that, under his leadership, KVHH will continue to provide our partner families with the jump-start they need and deserve, as homeownership is a pathway to a more vibrant, prosperous, and equitable life.” — Oliver Howell, Past President, KVHH Board of Directors
As the former, long-time executive director of Ministry with Community and, more recently, a Bronson Healthcare Group employee, Rob is well-known to the Kalamazoo area nonprofit community. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, he spent much of his career working to make his hometown a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient place for all its residents.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the team at KVHH. The impact of Habitat on our friends and neighbors speaks for itself. Housing is such a basic, critical issue that we need to bring to bear as many resources, partners, and creative ideas as possible to address it. There is a bright future ahead and I look forward to working with everyone to achieve it.”
Rob is most excited about the opportunities to build upon Habitat’s tremendous legacy. Housing is a critical issue in our community, now more than ever, and Habitat has always been on the forefront of creating safe, healthy, and affordable housing — and Rob believes that it goes beyond that.
“We at KVHH have relationships with our homeowner partners that span decades as we work together to build equity and, ultimately, inter-generational wealth. I can’t think of a more powerful way to have a lasting impact on our community.”
